At AMBER Alert Europe, we are looking for a Community and Communications Officer who will boost engagement among our community and has the drive, skills and experience to initiate projects with our partner network and bring them to a successful end. 

Job Description

As Community and Communications Officer, you are the link between the community and the organisation. You keep the lines of communication open. You gather feedback and create interesting opportunities by entering into a dialogue with our partners, both online and in person. As a result of these warm and insightful interactions, you know exactly what the community wants from our organisation and put these wishes and needs into action. This can range from highlighting our joint activities in a cleverly written social media post, to developing projects and even organising full-blown events. The sky is the limit.
 
Who are you?
You are an enthusiastic and energetic networker who can excite and assist everyone. Both verbally and in writing. You inspire and ensure that people feel valued and involved to the maximum. In addition, you also offer our community a listening ear.
You have excellent writing skills and are experienced in writing news items, social media posts, and other forms of snack-sized content. You tell compelling stories and ensure that they are also shared by enthusiastic members of our community. You can effortlessly excite and convince people, making you the ultimate storyteller.
You work in a structured manner and can bring any challenge thrown at you to a good end, no matter its size. You can juggle multiple tasks at once and are able to prioritize. Efficiency is your middle name.

Furthermore:
  • You have at least a Bachelor’s degree (preferably in business administration, communication, journalism, and media management);
  • You have at least 3 years of proven experience in community management, project management and communication;
  • You have excellent written and verbal skills in Dutch and English. Additional language skills are considered an asset;
  • You can make contact easily and are good at developing and maintaining relationships;
  • You can work proactively and in a timely manner on activities and tasks assigned;
  • You have a large portion of creativity, inventiveness, and guts;
  • You have good analytical and problem-solving skills;
  • You can work quickly and efficiently, also under pressure;
  • You can work well in a small team with people from different professional and cultural backgrounds.

About AMBER Alert Europe

AMBER Alert Europe, the European Centre for Missing Children, is a foundation that strives to improve the protection of missing children and empower children by raising awareness on the issue of missing children and its root causes. In order to contribute to a safer environment for children, we are connecting experts from 44 governmental organisations, in particular ministries of the interior and police forces, and non-governmental organisations from 28 European countries. Our activities cover prevention and awareness-raising, training, research, and child alerting, as well as launching initiatives aimed at impacting national and EU policies and legislation in the area of children’s rights.

Zo zetten we preventie- en bewustwordingscampagnes op, verzorgen we training en bouwen we nationale AMBER Alert-systemen. Om een veiligere omgeving te creëren voor kinderen werken wij samen met 44 verschillende organisaties in 28 landen.
